Dr. Mark Hofer is a certified educational planner and the founder of Your College Matters in Seattle. He has helped students successfully navigate the high school to college transition and successfully enter graduate school and industry for over twenty-five years. Mark was the senior advisor for education and technology at the Bezos Family Foundation in Seattle while also teaching leadership and serving as the college counselor for the Bezos Scholars Program for ten years. He received his doctorate in education and a master’s degree in teaching from Seattle University. With additional degrees in the sciences, Mark has worked in psychology, physiology, physics, biology, and aerospace engineering research labs and taught high school STEM and psychology for a decade. Previously, Dr. Hofer worked in the development and testing of engines and vehicle technologies at Blue Origin while also directing the company’s high school and college internship and co-op programs for fourteen years. His joy is encouraging teens to be more amazing than they can possibly imagine.
