Alberto Rivera grew up in the city of Los Angeles and is a first generation Salvadoran American working on becoming a Master of Science in Marine Science. His research at the University of San Diego focuses on larval respiration and thermal lethal limits of a barnacle species. Prior to this endeavor, Alberto worked in the same community which he grew up in directly teaching and helping place students in the top high schools of the city. He accomplished this with youth in New York City as well. Now, leading by example, he hopes to influence inner city youth to always chase their dreams and transcend all inequitable barriers generational systems have created to show the world what we are all capable of with the support we all deserve. For fun, Alberto enjoys sports, diving, travel and more!
